Menu translation resource
Supported menu languages
AI Menu APP supports twelve source and target languages, with language-aware handling for scripts, punctuation, menu terms, and common price formats.
Available languages
The current set includes English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Spanish, French, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Portuguese, German, Italian, and Arabic. Automatic detection is available when the source language is unknown.
Menus may contain borrowed culinary terms or multiple languages. Selecting the main language manually can improve consistency when a restaurant name or translated subtitle is visually dominant.
- Chinese processing accepts Simplified and Traditional menu content.
- Arabic right-to-left text can be affected by complex mixed-number layouts.
- Japanese and Korean menus often mix local scripts, Latin names, and numbers.
Why language-aware parsing matters
Languages use different punctuation, spacing, currency placement, counters, and portion terms. Shared rules handle general menu structure while language profiles provide script and price context without restaurant-specific exceptions.
- Keep currency symbols and decimal separators visible.
- Preserve vertical text and reading order on East Asian menus.
- Include headings that explain fixed-price menus, sizes, or portions.
Translation direction and quality
Any supported source language can be translated into another supported target language. Quality varies with image clarity, layout, regional vocabulary, and available context, so important ordering details must be checked against the source.
- Use the original dish name when asking restaurant staff a question.
- Retry with a clearer source when many items or prices are missing.
- Send feedback for repeatable language or layout problems.
